Founded in 1979 by highly acclaimed conductor, Benjamin Zander, the Boston Philharmonic is known for providing top-notch classical music that is accessible and enjoyable to both music aficionados and the casual listener.
The Orchestra is considered one of Boston’s best musical ensembles, and features a wide mix of talent that includes students, professionals, and amateur musicians. Also under the artistic direction of the Boston Philharmonic is the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, the company’s youth orchestra.
Both performance groups host concerts and special events throughout the year. Event venues include the Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology, Jordan Hall at NEC, Sanders Theatre, and Symphony Hall.
